New Delhi:
In a major move to boost employment and rejuvenate leadership in India’s public sector undertakings (PSUs), the Government of India is planning to fill over 5,000 vacancies across major PSUs like NTPC, ONGC, GAIL, BHEL, and SAIL under a nationwide “Talent Renewal Mission.”
The Ministry of Heavy Industries, in coordination with the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE), is expected to roll out this hiring wave by Q4 2025, targeting young professionals in engineering, finance, HR, operations, and energy sectors.
According to sources, this initiative aligns with the broader goal of revamping PSU efficiency, innovation, and youth integration, especially as several senior executives approach retirement in 2026–27.
An official noted, “We are focusing on strategic hiring to make PSUs more agile, tech-savvy, and future-ready. The upcoming drive is the largest since 2010.”
The move also supports the Atmanirbhar Bharat agenda by strengthening India’s core industrial backbone through competent, fresh talent.
Candidates will be able to apply through official PSU websites and a central portal expected to go live in September 2025.
