Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), a subsidiary of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), has officially announced a key change in its Board of Directors. As per communication dated 29th July 2025, Shri Rajinder Kumar, Economic Advisor at the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) and Government Nominee Director, has vacated his position on the Board effective July 28, 2025, following a transfer to another ministry.
The notification, issued under Regulations 30(2) and 51(2) of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, affirms that MRPL has also submitted the Director’s formal resignation to the BSE and NSE. The Company Secretary, Premachandra Rao G, confirmed this development through an official filing.
In his resignation letter addressed to MRPL's Managing Director, Shri Kumar expressed gratitude for the support and cooperation extended during his tenure. He emphasized his efforts to contribute meaningfully and voiced hope to reconnect in the future.
The change underscores the dynamic nature of public sector governance, especially within India’s oil and gas sector, and reflects routine administrative reshuffles at ministerial levels.
