Marico Q2 FY27 operating profit is expected to grow in the mid-twenties, while consolidated revenue is expected to rise in double digits, the consumer products company said in a BSE filing on October 5, 2026. The operating update covers the quarter ended September 30, 2026; detailed financial results will follow after board approval.

The India business maintained its momentum, with underlying volume growth touching double digits. Marico said domestic demand remained resilient despite a volatile operating environment. It remains optimistic about consumption trends while monitoring evolving inflationary conditions.

Following its first-half performance, the company said it was likely to surpass its near-term guidance across key financial parameters, supported by its core franchises and the expansion of newer businesses.

Parachute volumes accelerate; Saffola volumes decline

Performance across Marico’s domestic portfolio reflected differing volume and pricing trends:

  • Parachute Coconut Oil posted early-teens volume growth, accelerating further during the quarter. Marico attributed the performance to brand equity, consumer trust and its supply chain advantage.
  • Saffola Oils delivered mid-single-digit price-led growth, but volumes declined as the company prioritised threshold profitability and rationalised supplies of select variants.
  • Value Added Hair Oils delivered its sixth consecutive quarter of strong growth, with growth again in the twenties. Marico cited investments in the mid and premium segments, expanded direct reach through Project SETU and growth in the Almond category.
  • Foods and Premium Personal Care, including digital-first brands and shampoo, maintained growth momentum in line with the company’s aspirations.

The international business delivered constant-currency growth in the teens, led by Vietnam, the Middle East and South Africa. Bangladesh saw marginal sequential improvement while continuing to face a high comparison base and persistently elevated inflation.

Copra costs support margin outlook

Marico expects a strong year-on-year improvement in gross margin, supported by a favourable portfolio mix and lower copra costs. Copra prices remained rangebound at about 35% below peak levels, although costs of crude-linked derivatives rose further.

Advertising and sales promotion investments increased significantly as Marico continued spending on brand building and growth initiatives. Despite that higher spending, the company expects operating profit growth in the mid-twenties.

The update provides preliminary operating trends. A detailed information update will follow board approval of the unaudited consolidated and standalone financial results for the quarter and half year ended September 30, 2026.
