A Manimekhalai Steps Down as Union Bank MD and CEO After Successful Three-Year TermA Manimekhalai, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Union Bank of India, has completed her tenure on June 2, 2025. Following the conclusion of her term, she ceased to serve as Director of the Bank effective June 3, 2025.
The Financial Services Institutional Bureau has recently recommended Asheesh Pandey as the next MD and CEO of Union Bank of India.
Ms. Manimekhalai assumed leadership of the bank on June 3, 2022. With a banking career spanning over three decades, she began her journey in 1988 as an Officer at the erstwhile Vijaya Bank. Over the years, she held several key positions including Branch Head, Regional Head, and various leadership roles at the Corporate Office.
Her tenure at Union Bank has been marked by significant contributions to the bank’s growth and transformation.
