Moody's outlines scope of credit opinion
Moody's said it assigned the Baa3 rating with a stable outlook at Axis Bank's request and based on the pricing supplement dated August 4, 2026, which the rating agency understood to be in final form. The obligation was issued under the Axis Bank Limited, GIFT City Branch, Global Medium Term Note programme.
- The instrument is a fixed-rate medium-term note carrying a 5.348% coupon.
- The stated maturity date is June 30, 2031.
- Moody's monitoring depends on receiving relevant financial and other information from the issuer or its agents.
The rating agency explained that its credit ratings express opinions on relative future credit risk. They address credit risk only and do not cover other risks such as liquidity risk, market-value risk or price volatility. Moody's may revise or withdraw an assigned rating at any time under its stated policy.
What investors should note
Axis Bank's filing included Moody's standard caution that a credit rating is not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold securities. Investors are expected to conduct their own evaluation before purchasing, holding or selling any security.
The lender addressed the disclosure to BSE and the National Stock Exchange, where it trades under scrip code 532215 and symbol AXISBANK, respectively. Copies were also marked to the London Stock Exchange and Singapore Stock Exchange. The filing was signed by Company Secretary Sandeep Poddar and followed an earlier bank communication dated December 26, 2025.
