Axis Bank BBB rating assigned by S&P to GIFT City senior notes
S&P assigned a BBB rating to Axis Bank’s GIFT City senior notes, which will join an existing series under its global medium-term note programme.

Axis Bank BBB rating was assigned by S&P Global Ratings to senior notes issued through the bank’s GIFT City Branch, the lender informed exchanges in a BSE filing dated August 4, 2026. The notes are being issued under Axis Bank’s Global Medium Term Note programme.
According to the filing, the rated issue comprises U.S.$300 million of 5.348% senior notes. These notes will be consolidated and form a single series with U.S.$300 million of 5.348% senior notes under the bank’s U.S.$5 billion GMTN programme.
Axis Bank made the disclosure under Regulation 30 read with Schedule III of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, 2015. The filing was submitted to BSE, where the lender carries scrip code 532215, and to the National Stock Exchange under the symbol AXISBANK. Copies were also marked to the London Stock Exchange and Singapore Stock Exchange.
S&P confirms rating for GIFT City issue
In its rating confirmation letter, S&P Global Ratings Singapore Pte. Ltd. confirmed a BBB rating for the issue by Axis Bank Ltd.’s GIFT City Branch. The letter, dated August 4, 2026, permits the bank to disseminate the assigned rating to interested parties in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

S&P said wider dissemination permission would become effective only after the rating is released on its ratings website, except for sharing with professional advisers under appropriate confidentiality arrangements or for meeting regulatory obligations. The rating agency also said any website dissemination must include the complete rating analysis and applicable updates.
Rating remains subject to surveillance
S&P said maintaining the rating requires the continued receipt of information specified under the applicable terms and conditions. The agency relies on the issuer, its agents and advisers for the accuracy, timeliness and completeness of information submitted for the rating and its surveillance.
Axis Bank also included the standard caution that a credit rating is not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold securities. Ratings may be suspended, lowered or withdrawn by the assigning organisation at any time. The bank advised that ratings assigned to different types of securities may not carry the same meaning and should be assessed independently.
