The Uttar Pradesh government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Australia’s Monash University to strengthen global academic collaboration. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, present at the signing ceremony on Thursday, emphasized that the state views education not merely as a means to obtain degrees but as a cornerstone for overall development.

Highlighting the significance of the agreement, the Chief Minister reiterated the government's vision of establishing Uttar Pradesh as a global center of knowledge. He described the MoU as a major step toward integrating the state’s education system with international standards.

According to an official statement, the partnership will offer students and faculty across basic, secondary, and higher education institutions in the state a platform for research, innovation, training, and technical collaboration at a global level. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that this initiative will enhance quality and innovation in education while preparing the youth to compete globally.

Adityanath stated that the collaboration aligns with the objectives of the National Education Policy 2020, fostering skill development, international cooperation, and multi-dimensional learning. He also mentioned that Gautam Buddha University will serve as the central institution for implementing this partnership, instructing the university's vice chancellor to ensure its effective execution.

Referring to earlier collaborations with Western Sydney University, the Chief Minister noted that the new alliance with Monash University marks another milestone in advancing toward global education standards. He also cited India’s rich heritage of learning and invoked the Vedic phrase, "Aa no bhadra kratavo yantu vishwatah," meaning "let noble thoughts come to us from all directions," calling the agreement a modern reflection of this timeless principle.

Such global partnerships, he added, will pave the way for Uttar Pradesh to emerge as a prominent player on the international education landscape.
