SECI and DRDO have signed an agreement to generate 250 MW of solar power under the National Solar Mission. This initiative will support DRDO’s transition into a Green Organisation and reduce energy costs.
Solar energy panels to be installed on 402 acres at Aeronautical Test Range in Chitradurga to support DRDO labs nationwide
An MoU has been signed between the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and DRDO as part of the National Solar Mission. This effort aims to achieve energy neutrality and Net Zero Carbon goals. The plan is to generate 250 MW of solar power, which will make DRDO a Green Organisation.
As part of this initiative, a land use agreement has been signed to transfer 402 acres of land at the Aeronautical Test Range in Chitradurga, Karnataka, to SECI. This land will help produce 100 MW of solar power for DRDO labs across the country at lower rates.
