PNB Strike Notice: September Dates Flagged, Continuous Strike Called From October 26
Punjab National Bank flags possible branch and office disruption as unions call September strikes and a continuous strike from October 26, 2026.

Punjab National Bank disclosed a PNB strike notice in a BSE filing dated September 9, 2026, flagging union calls for strikes during September and a continuous strike from October 26. The bank said its branches and offices may be affected if the proposed action materialises.
The disclosure covers strike notices from the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), acting on behalf of seven constituent unions or associations, and separately from two other organisations. PNB said the Indian Bank Association (IBA) had informed it of the notices.
The September dates differ between the two notices, while both call for continuous strike action from the same date in October. The filing describes proposed industrial action and a possible operational impact; it does not confirm that the strikes have taken place.
Dates covered by the union notices
- September 11, 28, 29 and 30, 2026: UFBU called for strikes on these dates through its notice dated August 26, 2026, issued on behalf of seven constituent unions or associations.
- September 28, 29 and 30, 2026: All India Bank Adhikari Sena Mahasangh (AIBASM) and Bank Karmachari Sena Mahasangh (BKSM) called for strikes through their notice dated August 31, 2026.
- Continuous strike from October 26, 2026: Both notices include this call, with no end date specified in PNB's disclosure.
The unions called the strikes in support of their demands. The bank's filing does not set out those demands or provide details of any negotiations. September 11 appears only in the UFBU schedule, while the three later September dates are common to both notices.
PNB flags possible operational disruption
PNB said it is taking necessary steps to ensure the smooth functioning of its branches and offices on the strike days. Nevertheless, it cautioned that their functioning may be affected if the strike materialises.
The bank did not identify particular branches, offices or services that could face disruption, nor did it quantify any expected financial impact. Its warning remains conditional on the proposed strike action going ahead.
Company Secretary Bikramjit Shom signed the disclosure submitted under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. The communication was addressed to BSE and the National Stock Exchange, identifying the bank by BSE scrip code 532461 and NSE symbol PNB.
