The Government of India has approved the induction of four Punjab Civil Service (PCS) officers into the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) against vacancies for the year 2023. The appointments were notified by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions (Department of Personnel & Training) and published in the Gazette of India.
The officers appointed to the IAS Punjab cadre on probation until further orders are:
Rajdeep Singh Brar – Date of Birth: 06 November 1973
Bikramjit Singh Shergill – Date of Birth: 24 October 1972
Harshuinder Pal Singh Brar – Date of Birth: 11 November 1973
Rubinderjit Singh Brar – Date of Birth: 02 February 1972
These appointments have been made under the provisions of the Indian Administrative Service (Recruitment) Rules, 1954, the IAS (Appointment by Promotion) Regulations, 1955, and the IAS (Probation) Rules, 1954, in consultation with the Punjab Government.
The officers will serve in the Punjab cadre and their appointments are subject to the outcome of ongoing legal proceedings, including LPA No. 1345/2018 and LPA No. 1447/2018 before the Punjab and Haryana High Court, as well as OA No. 060/1925/2020.
This induction marks part of the regular promotion process that enables eligible state civil service officers to join the IAS, strengthening administrative leadership in the state.
