NEW DELHI. Engineers India (EIL) has received an important international contract worth about Rs 618 crore. The contract involves providing project management and engineering services for a new fertilizer plant in Africa.
An African fertilizer company awarded the contract. EIL will handle project management consultancy and engineering, procurement, and construction management services. The project is set to take 24 months to complete, as noted in a recent regulatory filing by EIL.
Specific details are confidential due to non-disclosure agreements. However, the company stated that this contract is not a related-party transaction and that its promoters have no interest in the awarding company.
This new project strengthens EIL's role in the international market. It showcases the company’s extensive experience in handling large infrastructure projects across different sectors, such as hydrocarbons, petrochemicals, and fertilizers.
Engineers India, recognized for its engineering consultancy and technology licensing services, also runs a DSIR-approved R&D center.
In its latest financial report, the company reported a 28.6% decline in consolidated net profit, dropping to Rs 65.40 crore in Q1 FY26. This occurred despite a 39.5% increase in revenue from operations, which rose to Rs 870.36 crore compared to the same period last year.
After the announcement, shares of Engineers India closed at Rs 208.80 on the BSE, showing a slight decrease of 0.02%.
