GAIL MNJPL Project Nears Completion Full Commissioning by December 31 2025

New Delhi, September 24, 2025 – GAIL (India) Limited, the country's leading integrated energy company, is on track to fully commission its ambitious Mumbai-Nagpur-Jharsuguda pipeline project (MNJPL) by December 31, 2025. The announcement was made following a meeting of GAIL's Board of Directors held today.

The 1,707 km natural gas pipeline is a critical component of the National Gas Grid (NGG) and a high-impact project under the Government of India's PM GatiShakti National Master Plan. It traverses four states: Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha. The pipeline is set to provide a reliable supply of clean fuel, meeting the growing demands of City Gas Distribution (CGD) networks and industrial sectors along its route. The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) has identified 17 Geographical Areas (GAs) encompassing 60 districts that will benefit from this network.

Construction is largely complete, with pipeline laying finished in Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Madhya Pradesh. The final leg of the project is in Maharashtra, where only 11 kilometers of the total 1,707 km remain to be constructed. A significant portion of the pipeline, 1,440 km, is already prepared for gas-in.
