MUMBAI: Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) has announced the re-appointment of Shri Baldeo Purushartha as a Government Nominee Director. The decision was made by the company's Board of Directors through a resolution passed on September 15, 2025.
This re-appointment follows the end of his previous tenure, which concluded on the day of the company's 55th Annual General Meeting. Shri Purushartha, who is also the Joint Secretary of the Infrastructure Policy and Planning Division at the Department of Economic Affairs, will resume his role with immediate effect.
A 2002-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Punjab cadre, Shri Purushartha brings a wealth of experience from various roles within the Government of Punjab and the Government of India. He currently represents the Government of India on the boards of several public sector enterprises, including the Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd and the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund Trustee Limited.
His contributions to infrastructure and public-private partnership (PPP) policies are well-documented, with a number of books and articles to his name. He was previously honored with an award from the Prime Minister for his role in making Chandigarh the first million-plus open defecation-free city.
