NTPC Declares Commercial Operation of 81.34 MW at Kalasar Solar Project
NTPC has declared 81.34 MW at its Kalasar solar project commercially operational, taking the group's commercial capacity to 90,222 MW, its filing said.

NTPC Ltd said in a BSE filing dated September 26, 2026, that the first part capacity of 81.34 MW at the Kalasar Solar Energy Project in Bikaner, Rajasthan, had entered commercial operation. The declaration took effect at 00:00 hours on September 26, 2026.
The capacity forms part of the 650 MW solar component under the 500 MW REMCL RTC Project of NTPC Renewable Energy Limited. NTPC Renewable Energy is a stepdown subsidiary of NTPC through NTPC Green Energy Limited, also known as NGEL.
NTPC submitted the disclosure to the stock exchanges along with a disclosure issued by NGEL on the same date. The filing identifies the operational capacity as the first part of the Kalasar project, limiting the declaration to the specified 81.34 MW.
How the declared capacity fits into the project
The exchange disclosure sets out three separate capacity figures for the development:
- 81.34 MW is the first part capacity declared commercially operational at Kalasar.
- 650 MW is the solar component of which this capacity forms a part.
- 500 MW is the stated capacity of the REMCL RTC Project under which the solar component sits.
These figures describe different levels of the project structure. The commercial-operation declaration concerns the first part capacity, rather than the full 650 MW solar component. The supplied disclosure does not specify a commercial-operation schedule for the remaining solar capacity.
NTPC group capacity position
Following the declaration, NTPC reported total group installed capacity of 91,302 MW and commercial capacity of 90,222 MW. The company presented these as separate group totals after the Kalasar capacity entered commercial operation.
The disclosure was submitted under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, and addressed to both BSE and the National Stock Exchange of India.
NTPC's filing carries BSE scrip code 532555 and NSE symbol NTPC. Company Secretary and Compliance Officer Ritu Arora signed the communication forwarding NGEL's disclosure to the exchanges.
