Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Odisha on Friday where he will launch development initiatives exceeding 19000 crore A significant highlight of this visit will be the inauguration and foundation laying of railway infrastructure projects valued at 2750 crore
As part of the event PM Modi will lay the foundation stones for the third and fourth railway lines between Sarla and Sason This project aims to reduce traffic congestion on the busy Jharsuguda Sambalpur section and promote industrial growth in western Odisha according to railway officials
In a major step for Boudh district the Prime Minister will inaugurate the 73 kilometre Sonepur Purunakatak railway line which forms a part of the larger 301 kilometre Khurda Road Balangir railway project This development will connect the Boudh district headquarters to the national railway network for the first time and is expected to improve access to the Bhairavi temple at Purunakatak
Among the other key infrastructure dedications the Prime Minister will unveil the fourth railway line between Jharsuguda and Jamga This addition is anticipated to drive economic growth and enhance industrial connectivity He will also inaugurate a freight train maintenance facility at Sarla designed to improve logistics efficiency and ensure smoother freight transport
Further additions include a subway in the Bamra Dharuadihi section the Link C Dumetra line and a new road over bridge at Jaleswar
Several new train services are also slated for launch These include the Boudh Bhubaneswar New Boudh Weekly Express 18313 18314 and the Sambalpur Boudh Sambalpur Weekly Express 18311 18312 In addition the Bhubaneswar Sonepur Bhubaneswar Inter City Express and two pairs of Balangir Sonepur Shuttle Passenger Trains will now originate from Purunakatak
