RailTel Corporation of India Limited informed the exchanges in a BSE filing on August 10, 2026, that the Ministry of Railways has conveyed the appointment of Rajesh Gupta as a part-time government nominee director on its board with immediate effect. The RailTel director appointment replaces Rameshwar Meena, who ceased to hold the position on the same date.

Gupta serves as Principal Executive Director, Signal Modernization, at the Railway Board. According to the filing, he will remain a part-time government director on RailTel’s board for as long as he holds the post of PED, Signal Modernization.

Ministry of Railways conveys board change

The Ministry of Railways communicated the change through a letter dated August 10, 2026. RailTel said Rajesh Gupta would serve on the board in place of Rameshwar Meena with effect from that date.

Appointment formalities under process

RailTel said it is taking the necessary action to complete Gupta’s appointment formalities in compliance with the Companies Act, 2013, and the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, 2015. The company will submit the requisite disclosure concerning his appointment in due course.

In the annexure covering Meena’s cessation, the company cited the Ministry of Railways letter as the reason for the change. It recorded August 10, 2026, as the effective date of his cessation and marked the fields concerning a brief profile and relationships between directors as not applicable.

The filing was addressed to BSE and the National Stock Exchange and signed by company secretary and compliance officer J. S. Marwah. It requested the exchanges to take the director-level change on record.
