Patel Engineering Secures Rs 239.98 Crore Hydropower Project from NHPC for Teesta-V Station
18-Month Contract Covers Tunnel Spillway and Hydro-Mechanical Works in Sikkim’s South District

Mumbai – Patel Engineering Limited (PEL), a leading infrastructure company with strong expertise in hydropower and tunneling, has received a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from NHPC Ltd. for Package 6 of the Teesta-V Power Station project in Sikkim. The awarded contract is valued at 239.98 crore rupees inclusive of taxes. The project scope involves converting the existing diversion tunnel into a tunnel spillway arrangement, along with executing civil and hydro-mechanical works. Key components include construction of a gate operation chamber and shaft, precast bridge, access roads, energy dissipation structures, environmental flow tunnel, dyke and associated infrastructure.
Scheduled to be completed within 18 months, the initiative reinforces Patel Engineering’s operational footprint in the North Eastern region. The company is also executing works on NHPC’s Teesta-VI Hydroelectric Project near Singtam, situated approximately 30 kilometers from the newly awarded site.
