New Delhi, April 24 — NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL), the green energy arm of state-run power major NTPC, is preparing to raise up to ₹5,000 crore through bond issuance in the upcoming financial year 2025–26.

The proposal will be taken up during the company’s board meeting scheduled for April 29, 2025.

According to a recent regulatory filing, the board will consider and approve fundraising up to ₹5,000 crore through various instruments, including secured or unsecured, taxable or tax-free, redeemable, cumulative or non-cumulative debentures. These bonds or non-convertible debentures (NCDs) could be issued in one or multiple tranches during the fiscal year.

NGEL serves as the central entity driving NTPC’s clean and renewable energy initiatives, aligning with India’s push for sustainable and green energy solutions.
