New Delhi – NTPC Limited has announced that its step-down subsidiary, NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), has declared commercial operation of the final 120 MW capacity under Unit-II of the 220 MW Shajapur Solar Project in Madhya Pradesh. The declaration came into effect from 00:00 hours on June 29, 2025, completing the commissioning of the entire project.
The project is being implemented through NTPC Green Energy Limited, a subsidiary of NTPC, as part of its broader push into renewable energy and grid-scale solar installations. The disclosure was made under Regulation 30 of SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements (LODR) Regulations, 2015, and communicated to both NSE and BSE.
With this declaration, the entire 220 MW capacity of Shajapur Solar Project is now commercially operational. This milestone reflects NTPC’s ongoing expansion in the renewable energy segment and contributes significantly to India's solar generation capacity.
The project is expected to supply clean energy to the grid and support the national objective of transitioning to low-carbon electricity systems.
