NLC India Subsidiary Gets GUVNL LoI for 275 MW Battery Storage Project in Gujarat
NLC India Renewables has secured a GUVNL Letter of Intent for a 275 MW standalone battery storage project in Gujarat, according to its parent’s BSE filing.

NLC India subsidiary NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL) has received a Letter of Intent from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (GUVNL) for a standalone battery energy storage project in Gujarat, the parent company said in a BSE filing dated September 4, 2026. The project has a capacity of 275 MW / 550 MWh.
NIRL, a wholly owned subsidiary of NLC India Ltd, emerged as the successful bidder in GUVNL’s tender for the development. The tender sought standalone battery energy storage systems in Gujarat through tariff-based competitive bidding.
The disclosure identifies NIRL as both the successful bidder and the recipient of the Letter of Intent. NLC India communicated the development to the stock exchanges through its regulatory filing.
GUVNL tender and project scope
The project covers the development of a standalone battery energy storage system in Gujarat. The filing specifies both its power capacity, at 275 MW, and energy storage capacity, at 550 MWh.
GUVNL issued the Letter of Intent after NIRL emerged as the successful bidder. The disclosed status is therefore the receipt of an LoI following the competitive bidding process. The filing does not report construction commencement or commissioning.
NLC India did not disclose the project value, winning tariff, execution schedule or a specific project site within Gujarat in this intimation.
Exchange disclosure details
NLC India submitted the information under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. The letter was addressed to both BSE and the National Stock Exchange.
The parent company is identified in the filing by BSE scrip code 513683 and NSE symbol NLCINDIA. NLC India describes itself as a Navratna Government of India enterprise.
