National Aluminium Company: NALCO Clarifies Share Price Movement, Says No Undisclosed Material Event
NALCO said its August 12 share price movement may relate to a Norsk Hydro report, while confirming no undisclosed event requiring disclosure.

National Aluminium Company Ltd (NALCO) clarified the NALCO share price movement observed on August 12, 2026, saying in a BSE filing that it had no further event, information or announcement requiring disclosure under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, 2015.
The state-owned aluminium producer made the voluntary disclosure after observing what it described as a significant movement in the price of its securities during the day. NALCO said it could not ascertain any event or information concerning the company in mainstream media that could explain the movement.
Company points to Norsk Hydro media report
NALCO said a mainstream-media article concerning the curtailment of refinery capacity by 50% by Norsk Hydro might have triggered the material movement in its share price. The company did not identify any NALCO-specific development connected with that report.
The clarification separates the external industry report from developments directly involving NALCO. According to the filing, all information concerning the company that was required to be disclosed had already been placed in the public domain.
- NALCO observed the price movement on August 12.
- It found no company-specific event or information in mainstream media.
- It cited a report about Norsk Hydro's refinery capacity curtailment as a possible trigger.
- It confirmed there was no additional disclosure required under Regulation 30.
Disclosure made to limit speculation
NALCO said the clarification was issued in the interest of transparency and to avoid speculation over the movement in its share price. The filing was submitted to BSE and the National Stock Exchange, where the company trades under scrip code 532234 and symbol NATIONALUM, respectively.
The communication was signed by B. K. Sahu, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer. It was filed as an intimation under Regulation 30(11) of the SEBI LODR Regulations, which covers verification of market rumours or reported information in applicable circumstances.
