State-run infrastructure giant IRCON International Ltd has secured a significant civil works contract worth RS 458.14 crore from the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO) for the Tato-I Hydro Electric Project in Arunachal Pradesh. The company received a Letter of Acceptance under Package I of the project, which entails the execution of vital civil components on an item rate basis.

The scope of work includes the construction of headworks, intake systems, headrace channels and tunnels, surge and pressure shafts, valve house, powerhouse, and related infrastructure. The project will be carried out over a period of 45 months.

In another major win earlier this year, IRCON, through its joint venture with SSNR Projects Pvt Ltd (IRCON-SSNR JV), bagged a railway infrastructure contract worth RS 872.69 crore from Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. This involves the construction of tunnels T1 and T2, ballast-less track laying, and other formation works along the 198-km electrified broad-gauge line between Mangliyagaon (Indore) and Budni, spanning Ratlam and Bhopal divisions in Madhya Pradesh.

IRCON holds a 70% stake in the JV, accounting for RS 610.88 crore, while SSNR Projects holds the remaining 30%. The railway project is scheduled for completion in 40 months, with an additional six-month defect liability period.
