BENGALURU, INDIA – May 20, 2025 – State-run IRCON International Ltd today announced it has secured a significant Rs 253.6 crore contract from South Western Railway. The project involves the implementation of KAVACH, India's indigenous train collision avoidance system, across 778 route kilometers within the Bengaluru and Mysuru divisions.

The comprehensive scope of work for IRCON includes the survey, design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of KAVACH equipment, along with all associated infrastructure. The project is expected to be completed within 18 months from the date the Letter of Acceptance (LOA) was issued.

This crucial contract highlights IRCON's role in enhancing railway safety and efficiency in India through advanced technological solutions.

In related financial news, IRCON International reported a 3.8% year-on-year YoY decline in net profit for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2024, at Rs 246.8 crore, compared to Rs 256.5 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. Revenue from operations also saw a slight dip of 1%, settling at Rs 3,742.7 crore against Rs 3,780.7 crore in the prior year.

Despite the revenue and profit decline, the company's operating performance showed improvement, with EBITDA increasing by 56.3% to Rs 286.3 crore in Q4 FY24, up from Rs 183.2 crore in the same period last fiscal. This boosted the EBITDA margin to 7.7% in the reporting quarter, a notable increase from 4.9% in the fourth quarter of the previous fiscal.

Following the announcement, shares of Ircon International Ltd closed at Rs 188.30 on the BSE, down by Rs 9.10, or 4.61%.
