New Delhi, July 19, 2025: Central Electronics Limited (CEL), a Schedule ‘B’ Public Sector Undertaking under the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science & Technology, has officially invited applications for the prestigious position of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). The announcement follows CEL's recent elevation to Mini-Ratna Category-I CPSE status for FY 2024–25, marking a significant milestone in its ongoing journey of strategic revival and technological innovation.

Founded in 1974 and headquartered in Sahibabad, Uttar Pradesh, CEL operates in four core verticals—Defense, Railways and next-generation electronic equipment, Integrated Solutions, and Solar Photovoltaics. Applicants must be employed in a regular capacity in eligible government or private sector institutions, meet age and qualification criteria, and possess relevant experience over the last decade. Engineering graduates, CAs, Cost Accountants, or postgraduates with an MBA/PGDIM are eligible to apply. Candidates from listed companies will be preferred, and those from Central Government services must apply on an immediate absorption basis.

The appointment will be for a tenure of five years or until the date of superannuation, whichever comes first. Candidates must also submit an undertaking of willingness to join if selected, failing which they may be debarred from future CPSE board-level appointments for two years.
