Bharat Electronics: BEL Director Appointments: Ambrish Tripathi, Anoop Kumar Rai Join Board
Bharat Electronics named Ambrish Tripathi Director (HR) and Anoop Kumar Rai Director (Marketing), effective August 13, 2026, its filing said.

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) announced two BEL director appointments on August 13, 2026, naming Ambrish Tripathi as Director (Human Resources) and Anoop Kumar Rai as Director (Marketing). The Navratna defence PSU informed the exchanges about the appointments in a BSE filing made under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Regulations.
The Ministry of Defence, Government of India, appointed both executives through separate letters dated August 12, 2026. BEL's board subsequently approved their appointments as additional directors through a circular resolution, with effect from August 13, 2026.

Ambrish Tripathi takes charge of human resources
Ambrish Tripathi had served as General Manager of BEL's Kotdwar unit since January 1, 2024, before his elevation. He joined BEL in 1991 as an R&D engineer after studying Electronics and Communication at NIT Allahabad, and subsequently worked across production, material management, marketing and information systems.
According to the filing, Tripathi was instrumental in implementing SAP across BEL and in deploying file lifecycle management and virtual desktop infrastructure. During his tenure at Kotdwar, he played a role in modernising the unit, which reached turnover of Rs 1,000 crore for the first time and received a business excellence award in the Platinum category.
BEL stated that Tripathi is not related to any other company director, is not barred by SEBI or another statutory authority from holding directorship, and is not disqualified under Section 164 of the Companies Act, 2013.
Anoop Kumar Rai moves into marketing role
Anoop Kumar Rai, who has a 33-year career, had been Executive Director at BEL's Central Research Laboratory in Ghaziabad since August 1, 2025. The company credited him with work spanning defence systems, artificial intelligence, unmanned systems, command-and-control platforms and civilian infrastructure.
The filing said Rai spearheaded development of the AI-powered Saksham drone warfare system in collaboration with Army AD and contributed to the conceptualisation of an AI-based Command Information and Decision Support System. His profile also cites involvement in the IACCS project, indigenous railway and metro solutions, and exports of coastal surveillance systems to the Maldives, Seychelles and Mauritius.
Rai has received the Raksha Mantri's Excellence Award and a commendation from the Chief of Naval Staff, according to BEL. The company confirmed that he is not related to another BEL director, is not debarred by SEBI or another statutory authority, and is not disqualified under the Companies Act.
