Pune, India – The Suzlon Group, a leader in India's wind energy sector, has announced a significant new partnership with Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) to advance the nation's clean energy transition. The deal, valued at 838 MW, marks Suzlon's largest order for the current fiscal year (FY26) and its second-largest ever.
This project is part of a Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) initiative, a key element in India's strategy for achieving 24/7 clean power. The collaboration highlights the synergy between two of India's pioneering clean energy companies, leveraging "Made in India" innovation to create reliable and efficient power solutions.
Under the agreement, Suzlon will supply 266 of its S144 wind turbines, each with a rated capacity of 3.15 MW. The project will be executed across three states: 302 MW in Karnataka, 271 MW in Maharashtra, and 265 MW in Tamil Nadu. This multi-state execution underscores the strategic importance of the project in bolstering India's national grid.
This partnership is the third between Suzlon and Tata Power and underscores the growing importance of FDRE wind-dominant systems in meeting India's ambitious clean energy targets. The project is part of the FDRE bids awarded to SJVN and NTPC.
