Ahmedabad – Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has announced a significant industry milestone, surpassing an operational capacity of 15,539.9 megawatts (MW) in renewable energy. This makes AGEL the first and only renewable energy company in India to cross the 15,000 MW threshold, achieved primarily through greenfield projects.

The portfolio now includes around 11,005.5 MW of solar, 1,978.7 MW of wind, and 2,556.6 MW of wind-solar hybrid capacity, solidifying AGEL's status as a top global independent renewable energy producer.

The achievement comes just 15 months after reaching 10,000 MW, underlining accelerated project execution led by landmark ventures like the 30,000 MW renewable energy plant at Khavda, Gujarat, touted to be the world’s largest of its kind.

Speaking on the milestone, Ashish Khanna, CEO of AGEL, emphasized the role of visionary leadership and team dedication in making clean energy scalable and reliable, aligning with India’s goal of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil capacity by 2030.

Key Highlights:

  • Over 55 million solar modules and 1,177 wind turbines installed

  • Generated ~3,700 green jobs

  • Offsets ~28.6 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually — equivalent to removing 6.3 million cars or planting 1.36 million trees

  • Powering approximately 7.9 million households across 13 Indian states

AGEL also holds top rankings in ESG performance—first on NSE’s ESG index for power sector and first globally on FTSE Russell’s ESG score in the alternative energy category.
