100 days of Rekha Gupta govt: BJP to highlight welfare plans at JLN stadium event tomorrow

NEW DELHI: The current BJP dispensation has listed a number of welfare schemes as its achievements in a document, which is likely to be launched on Saturday as the govt's achievements in 100 days in office. Among the highlights are its presentation of a Rs 1 lakh crore budget for 2025-26, which is the highest ever. It will also list as achievements the regular holding of jan sunwai programmes at the chief minister's camp office and in the districts, the steps taken to clean the Yamuna, health schemes for the poor and elderly, a law to curb arbitrary school fee hikes, and the launch of buses for last-mile connectivity Back in the saddle in Delhi after 27 years, BJP wants to celebrate its first 100 days in office in a big way. An event to commemorate it will be held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Saturday. 

According to officials, chief minister Rekha Gupta has asked her council of ministers — Parvesh Verma, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Pankaj Kumar Singh, Kapil Mishra and Ravindra Indraj Singh — to compile the list of work done in the last three months in their respective departments and share it with her to turn it into a report card. "All ministers have submitted the list of substantial work done in the departments they are in charge of. The CM too has compiled a similar list," an official said. The officials added that most of the work started in the last three months were promised in BJP's Sankalp Patra or election manifesto.

The rolling out of the Ayushman Bharat health scheme, a monthly honorarium of Rs 2,500 for poor women, cleaning the Yamuna, and tabling the CAG reports pending for the last few years, were among the several promises BJP had made. "We are also trying to make this govt connect with the people of Delhi. The chief minister has the jan sunwai programme at her camp office every morning to listen to people's grievances. Similarly, every district will now have a jan sunwai programme every Saturday," a close aide of the chief minister said. "The CM has also held seven cabinet meetings so far to approve the initiative for the development of the city and frequently visited schools and hospitals apart from roads and drains for inspection," he added.
