LIC Housing Finance Ltd, the mortgage subsidiary of insurance giant LIC, reported a 25.4 percent year-on-year increase in net profit, reaching Rs 1,368 crore for the fourth quarter ending March 31, 2025. In the same quarter of the previous fiscal year, the company had posted a net profit of Rs 1,090.8 crore, according to a regulatory filing.

Net interest income (NII), which represents the difference between interest earned from lending and interest paid to depositors, declined by 3.2 percent to Rs 2,166.5 crore, compared to Rs 2,237.6 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY24.

Profit before tax for the March quarter rose by 20 percent to Rs 1,769.58 crore, up from Rs 1,476.18 crore in Q4 FY24.

Total disbursements increased by 5 percent year-on-year to Rs 19,156 crore in Q4 FY25, compared to Rs 18,232 crore in the same quarter of the previous year.

Disbursements in the Individual Home Loan segment rose by 8 percent to Rs 15,383 crore, up from Rs 14,300 crore in Q4 FY24. However, disbursements in the Project Loan segment dropped to Rs 875 crore, down from Rs 1,501 crore a year earlier.

As of March 31, 2025, the Individual Home Loan portfolio stood at Rs 2,61,562 crore, marking a 7 percent increase from Rs 2,44,205 crore a year ago. The Project Loan portfolio rose by 15 percent to Rs 9,213 crore from Rs 8,036 crore. Overall, the total outstanding loan portfolio expanded by 7 percent to Rs 3,07,732 crore from Rs 2,86,844 crore in the previous fiscal year.

Provisions for Expected Credit Loss (ECL) decreased to Rs 4,899.03 crore as of March 31, 2025, from Rs 6,270.06 crore a year earlier. The Stage 3 Exposure at Default ratio improved to 2.47 percent, compared to 3.31 percent in the previous year and 2.75 percent as of December 31, 2024.

The company's board of directors has approved a dividend of 500 percent for the financial year 2024-25, amounting to Rs 10 per equity share with a face value of Rs 2 each. The results were announced after market hours. Shares of LIC Housing Finance Ltd closed at Rs 624.90, up Rs 8.10 or 1.31 percent on the BSE.
