Shri Vikram Dingley Appointed Director (Finance) at Shipping Corporation of India

Mumbai,The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. (SCI) has announced a key leadership change with the appointment of Shri Vikram Dingley to hold the additional charge of Director (Finance) effective from July 1, 2025, until December 31, 2025, or until further orders.

This appointment comes following the approval from the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, as communicated through their official letter (Ref: SS-11012/4/2019-US(SU)) dated July 2, 2025. Shri Dingley will take on this role in addition to his existing position as Director (Technical & Offshore Services) at SCI.

Extensive Maritime Experience

Shri Vikram Dingley brings with him over 36 years of professional maritime experience. A graduate in Mechanical Engineering from Regional Engineering College, Srinagar, he also holds a First Class Marine Engineer license.

Having joined SCI in 1989, Shri Dingley served on board various ships, rising through the ranks to become Chief Engineer. In 2003, he transitioned to SCI’s shore establishment and has since taken on key roles in departments like Ship Building, Tanker Technical, and Fleet Personnel.

His expertise spans the full spectrum of technical operations, dry docking, in-service vessel management, and project execution from conceptualization to delivery.

Board Representation

In addition to his roles within SCI, Shri Dingley is also a board member of the Inland & Coastal Shipping Ltd. (ICSL) and SCI Bharat IFSC Ltd., both being wholly owned subsidiaries of SCI.

SCI confirmed that Shri Dingley is not related to any current directors and holds no disqualifications from any regulatory or judicial body.
 

Know about Shri Vikram

Shri Vikram Dingley has taken over charge as Director(TOS) w.e.f 19.05.2022. Mr Vikram Dingley graduated from National Institute of Technology Srinagar with a first class degree in mechanical engineering and joined SCI in 1989 and served on board various ships in different ranks rising to the position of Chief Engineer. In 2003, he was absorbed in the shore office of The SCI and has served in the Technical Services -Ship Building, Tanker Technical and Fleet Personnel departments in various ranks. Mr Vikram Dingley has extensive knowledge of the shipping industry with a specialization in new-building projects, ship acquisitions, technical and commercial management of fleet operations and dry-dockings.
