Indian Bank ED Tenure: Shiv Bajrang Singh Gets Extension Up to February 28, 2027
Indian Bank disclosed a government extension of Executive Director Shiv Bajrang Singh's tenure up to February 28, 2027, subject to further orders.

Indian Bank ED tenure has been extended for Shiv Bajrang Singh up to February 28, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, the bank said in a BSE filing dated September 25, 2026. The Central Government authorised the extension through a notification dated September 23, 2026.
Singh's currently notified term as Executive Director is due to end on October 8, 2026. The government notification extends his tenure beyond that date until his superannuation on February 28, 2027, subject to the earlier-orders condition.
The disclosure concerns the continuation of Singh in his existing Executive Director position. The stated end date is linked to his superannuation, while the notification expressly allows further orders to determine an earlier end to the extended tenure.
Government notification sets the tenure terms
Indian Bank cited Central Government Notification No. eF.No.4/1/(iv)/2025-BO.I as the basis for the extension. The bank communicated the decision to both BSE and the National Stock Exchange under the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
The filing sets out the following dates for the tenure decision:
- Government notification: September 23, 2026.
- Exchange disclosure: September 25, 2026.
- Expiry of the currently notified term: October 8, 2026.
- Superannuation and outer limit of the extension: February 28, 2027, unless further orders apply earlier.
The government exercised powers under Section 9(3)(a) of the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1970, read with Paragraph 8(1) of the Nationalised Banks (Management and Miscellaneous Provisions) Scheme, 1970.
Director eligibility disclosures
Indian Bank also confirmed that Shiv Bajrang Singh is not related to any other director of the bank. It further stated that he is not debarred from holding the office of director by any SEBI order or any other such authority.
The communication was issued by the bank's Investor Services Cell at its corporate office in Chennai and signed by the AGM and Company Secretary. Indian Bank trades under BSE scrip code 532814 and NSE symbol INDIANB.
