New Delhi – Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), a Maharatna public sector company under the Ministry of Steel, has announced the appointment of Shri Pranoy Roy as Independent Director on its Board. The decision was approved on July 8, 2025, after receiving formal nomination from the Government of India via order dated July 3, 2025.

Shri Roy will serve a tenure of three years or until further orders, whichever comes earlier. In its filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange, SAIL confirmed that Shri Roy is not barred from holding the office of director by any order of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) or any other regulatory authority.

The appointment is in accordance with Regulation 30 of SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements. SAIL has also submitted a brief profile of Shri Roy along with the corporate filing.

This move reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen corporate governance and strategic leadership across major central public sector undertakings.
