Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (POWERGRID) completed the POWERGRID CFO appointment of Amol Babulal Taori as Director (Finance) and Chief Financial Officer with effect from August 20, 2026, the state-owned company said in a BSE filing dated Thursday. Following Taori's appointment, Venkata Subrahamanayam Vallurie, Chief General Manager (Finance and Accounts), ceased to be the company's CFO.

The board approved Taori's appointment as an Additional Director [Director (Finance)] and also named him CFO at its meeting on August 20. The meeting began at 1 pm and concluded at 1.20 pm, according to the disclosure filed under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations.

Board renews directorship after annual general meeting

Taori had initially been appointed Additional Director [Director (Finance)] by POWERGRID's board on August 18, 2026. That tenure continued until the conclusion of the company's 37th Annual General Meeting on August 20, in accordance with Section 161(1) of the Companies Act, 2013 and Regulation 17(1C) of SEBI LODR.

The board subsequently appointed him again as Additional Director [Director (Finance)] at its August 20 meeting and simultaneously designated him CFO. POWERGRID said the other information contained in the annexure to its August 18 letter remained unchanged.

  • His term under the Ministry of Power order is five years from the date he assumed charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
  • Director (Personnel) Yatindra Dwivedi relinquished the additional charge of Director (Finance) on August 18.

Taori brings nearly three decades of finance experience

Taori is a Chartered Accountant with nearly 30 years of experience spanning finance, treasury, international trade, marketing and compensation management. Before joining POWERGRID, he served as Executive Director (In-charge), International Trade, at Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd.

At HPCL, his responsibilities included crude procurement of approximately 700 kbd, product imports and exports, chartering and shipping arrangements, and oil price risk management. He also served as a director on the board of HPCL Middle East FZCO, Dubai.

POWERGRID stated that Taori is not related to any director or key managerial personnel of the company and is not debarred from holding office by a SEBI order or any other authority. The company's shares are listed under BSE code 532898 and NSE symbol POWERGRID.
