NTPC Re-Appoints Gurdeep Singh as CMD on Contract Basis for One Year Post Superannuation
NTPC reappoints Gurdeep Singh as CMD on contract for one year post superannuation, effective from August 1, 2025.

New Delhi. NTPC Limited, India’s largest power generation company, has announced the re-employment of Shri Gurdeep Singh as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) on a contract basis for one year after his retirement. The extension will take effect from August 1, 2025, until July 31, 2026, or until a regular appointee takes over, or until further notice, whichever comes first.
The Ministry of Power, Government of India, shared this decision through an official communication dated July 18, 2025. Shri Gurdeep Singh, who holds Director Identification Number (DIN) 00307037, has played a key role in guiding NTPC’s growth and change over the years.
NTPC mentioned that it is currently completing the necessary formalities for the re-appointment. Further updates will be provided according to SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements (LODR) Regulations, 2015.
Ritu Arora, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer, formally communicated the announcement to BSE and NSE.
