MSTC Limited appointed Ms. Santosh, Statistical Adviser at the Ministry of Steel, as Government Nominee Director on its board, the state-owned company said in a BSE filing on 10 August 2026. The appointment took effect from 7 August 2026 and will continue until further orders.

The board approved the appointment through a resolution by circulation passed on 10 August. The action followed an order issued by the Board Level Appointment cell of the Ministry of Steel on 6 August 2026.

Ms. Santosh replaces former nominee director

Ms. Santosh, who holds DIN 09519383, has joined the MSTC board in place of Ms. Sudershan Mendiratta, former Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Steel. MSTC said Ms. Mendiratta ceased to be a director of the company with effect from 6 August 2026.

The filing stated that Ms. Santosh is not related to any director or key managerial personnel of MSTC. It also confirmed that she is not debarred from holding the office of director by any order of the Securities and Exchange Board of India or another authority.

Over 25 years in public administration

Ms. Santosh is a 1999-batch Indian Statistical Service officer with more than 25 years of public-administration experience. She holds an M.Sc. in Statistics and joined NITI Aayog, then known as the Planning Commission, in July 2001.

Her professional experience includes serving as Deputy Director General in the Ministry of Coal and holding positions across her cadre and other central ministries. She has also served as a director on the boards of Central Coalfields Limited, Eastern Coalfields Limited and Singareni Collieries Company Limited.
