New Delhi, 24 July 2025 – The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB), under the Department of Personnel & Training, has officially recommended Jahangeer Alam Ansari for the post of Director (Finance) at Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL), a Schedule B Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence.
The selection was finalized during PESB Meeting No. 65/2025, held at 11:30 AM on 24 July 2025 at the PESB office in New Delhi. Mr. Ansari, who currently serves as Chief General Manager (Finance) at Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), emerged as the top choice among ten senior executives who were interviewed for the position.
The shortlisted candidates represented leading public sector organizations, including Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders, Hindustan Aeronautics, HOCL, NTPC Green Energy, Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals (MRPL), NPCIL, Kamarajar Port, and Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited.
Goa Shipyard Limited is renowned for its expertise in shipbuilding and marine engineering, contributing significantly to India's defence manufacturing sector. The appointment of Mr. Ansari is seen as a strategic move to further enhance the company’s financial management and operational transparency.
Pending official notification and mandatory clearances, Mr. Ansari will soon take charge to strengthen GSL’s financial governance and support its long-term growth initiatives.
