Hindustan Copper independent directors Ashish Kumar Khetan and Madhumita Daolagupu have been appointed to the company’s board, the state-owned miner informed exchanges in a BSE filing on August 14, 2026. The Ministry of Mines, Government of India, conveyed their appointment as part-time non-official independent directors through an order issued on the same date.

The appointments have been made for three years from the date of notification or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Hindustan Copper disclosed the development under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, 2015.

Board appointment terms

The Ministry of Mines communicated the appointments through Order No. Met.3-10/2/2020-Met.III dated August 14, 2026. The company identified the two incoming board members as:

  • Ashish Kumar Khetan — part-time non-official independent director
  • Madhumita Daolagupu — part-time non-official independent director

The tenure condition links the start of the three-year period to the notification date rather than the date of the exchange filing. The ministry’s order also allows the appointments to end earlier if further orders are issued.

Statutory process to follow

Hindustan Copper said it will undertake the necessary action to complete the statutory formalities relating to both appointments. The company will provide the requisite details in due course under Regulation 30 of the SEBI listing regulations, read with the SEBI circular dated January 30, 2026.

The disclosure was addressed to BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India. Hindustan Copper trades under BSE scrip code 513599 and the NSE symbol HINDCOPPER. Company Secretary and Compliance Officer Mritunjay Kumar Dev signed the exchange communication.
