General Insurance Corporation of India: GIC Company Secretary Update: Satheesh Kumar to Continue in
GIC said Satheesh Kumar will continue as company secretary, compliance officer and KMP after Sanjeeb Mishra declined to join for personal reasons.

General Insurance Corporation of India (GIC) said in a BSE filing on 13 August 2026 that Satheesh Kumar will continue as its company secretary, compliance officer and key managerial personnel. The decision follows Sanjeeb Mishra conveying his inability to join the corporation due to personal reasons.
The disclosure was submitted under Regulation 30 read with Schedule III of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. GIC shares are identified by BSE scrip code 540755 and the NSE symbol GICRE.
Board notes change in appointment plan
GIC referred to its earlier intimation dated 15 May 2026, when the board had approved Mishra's appointment as company secretary, compliance officer and key managerial personnel in place of Kumar. The appointment was to become effective from the date Mishra took charge, with the corporation due to announce that date separately.
At its meeting on 13 August, the board noted that Mishra had conveyed that he would not be able to join. Consequently, the previously planned transition will not take effect, and Kumar will remain responsible for the three designated roles.
- Sanjeeb Mishra had been approved for appointment subject to taking charge.
- He later conveyed his inability to join for personal reasons.
- Satheesh Kumar will continue as company secretary, compliance officer and key managerial personnel.
Meeting and disclosure details
The board meeting began at 9:30 am IST and concluded at 1:25 pm IST on 13 August 2026. The filing was addressed to both BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India.
Kumar signed the exchange communication in his capacity as company secretary and compliance officer. The disclosure updates shareholders and the exchanges on the status of the appointment previously approved by GIC's board, while confirming continuity in the compliance and key managerial positions.
