Dredging Corporation of India Director Appointment: Board Clears Susanta Kumar Purohit
DCI's board has approved Susanta Kumar Purohit as an additional director, with the effective date subject to receipt of his DIN or Form DIR-2.

Dredging Corporation of India director appointment: Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCIL) informed exchanges in a BSE filing on September 4, 2026, that its board has approved the appointment of Shri Susanta Kumar Purohit, IRSEE, as an Additional Director in the Promoter, Non-Executive and Non-Independent category.
The approval was granted through a resolution by circulation after the board considered the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. The appointment has not yet taken effect: DCIL said the effective date will be communicated after it receives Purohit's Director Identification Number and/or his consent in Form DIR-2, as applicable.
Appointment tenure and shareholder approval
Once the applicable requirement is fulfilled, Purohit's appointment will continue until the next Annual General Meeting, where shareholder approval for his regular appointment as a Non-Executive Director would be sought. The company may instead seek approval through a postal ballot within three months of the appointment. The tenure could also end earlier under further orders.
- Purohit assumed additional charge as Chairman of Paradip Port Authority from September 1, 2026.
- The additional charge is for six months, until a new Chairperson is appointed, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
- The committee noted the cessation of Shri P. L. Haranadh as a director of DCIL with effect from September 1, 2026.
- DCIL said Purohit is not related to any of its directors.
Profile of Susanta Kumar Purohit
Purohit is a 1996-batch officer of the Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers and serves as Chairperson of V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority while holding the additional charge at Paradip Port Authority. His experience spans administration, engineering, infrastructure development, policy formulation and public-sector management.
He previously served as Joint Secretary in the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Government of India, and has held positions in Indian Railways, the Ministry of Power and the Government of Odisha. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from Sambalpur University and a postgraduate diploma in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations from Andhra University.
The filing states that Purohit holds no shares in Dredging Corporation of India and has no directorships in other companies. The disclosure was made under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, 2015.
