Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited (CMPDIL) said in a BSE filing on August 19, 2026, that its board has inducted Shri Molleti Ganapathi Rao as a non-official independent director. The CMPDIL independent director appointment took effect on August 19.

Molleti Ganapathi Rao's administrative and technical background

Rao is a retired Senior Grade Deputy Collector with experience spanning public administration, revenue administration, land administration and resource management. He also has professional experience as a geophysicist in geophysical surveys and groundwater targeting.

He holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry from Andhra University, completed in 1982, and an M.Sc. (Tech.) in Geophysics from the same university, completed in 1985.

Rao began his career as a geophysicist with GSDA, Mumbai, during 1985-1986. He then worked with APSIDC, Andhra Pradesh, from 1986 to 1995. Between 1996 and 2024, he served in the Revenue Department of the Government of Andhra Pradesh, including as a Special Grade Deputy Collector in the State Civil Services. CMPDIL said his expertise covers public administration, revenue and land administration, resource administration and geophysics.
