Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), India’s premier defense electronics company under the Ministry of Defence, has announced the appointment of three new Executive Directors across key units as part of its strategic leadership transition plan. The company made this official through filings to both the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. (NSE) and the BSE Ltd., in accordance with Regulation 30(2) of SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015.
These appointments come into effect from August 1, 2025, and are expected to bring fresh leadership focus and operational excellence in BEL’s high-priority units across the country.
Shri Suryanarayana Murthy G has been appointed as the Executive Director of the Pune Unit. He brings with him vast experience in defense electronics manufacturing and project management. Under his leadership, the Pune Unit is expected to expand its production capabilities and contribute significantly to BEL’s strategic and R&D-driven programs. His expertise in operations and systems engineering is likely to steer the unit towards enhanced productivity and innovation.
Shri Anoop Kumar Rai has been designated as Executive Director of the Central Research Laboratory (CRL) in Ghaziabad. CRL is a critical R&D division of BEL focusing on cutting-edge technologies such as AI, radar systems, software solutions, and cyber security. With a strong background in research and development, Shri Rai is expected to lead the CRL in driving technological advancements that align with India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.
Commander (Retired) K Kumar has been appointed as Executive Director of NS(S&CSI)/BG Complex. A former Indian Navy officer, Cdr Kumar brings defense domain expertise and deep understanding of secure communications, surveillance systems, and integrated naval solutions. His leadership at BG Complex—one of BEL’s flagship centers in Bengaluru—will be instrumental in delivering complex turnkey projects for India’s defense forces.
These appointments reflect BEL’s commitment to grooming leaders with technical acumen, domain expertise, and strategic foresight. With these new leaders at the helm of critical units, Bharat Electronics Limited continues to strengthen its position as a cornerstone of India’s defense self-reliance and digital transformation in national security.
