Bangalore – BEML Limited, a Schedule ‘A’ defence and aerospace public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Defence, has announced the appointment of Ms. Meera Mohanty as Government Director (Part-time Official Director) on its Board.

This appointment, effective from July 14, 2025, follows approval by the Ministry of Defence via Office Memorandum No. 8(32)/2019-D(Coord/DDP). Ms. Mohanty replaces Smt. Nishtha Upadhyay, who previously served as Joint Secretary (Training) and Finance Manager (Land Systems).

Ms. Meera Mohanty is a 2005 batch IAS officer of the Himachal Pradesh cadre and currently serves as Joint Secretary (PAC) in the Department of Defence Production. Prior to this role, she held the position of Joint Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, bringing extensive administrative experience to her new assignment.

The company, through a regulatory filing to BSE and NSE, confirmed that Ms. Mohanty is not disqualified under any SEBI order or similar directive, and disclosed that there are no inter-se relationships between directors.

This board-level change aligns with BEML’s commitment to strategic oversight and governance under SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements.
