HDFC Bank credit rating actions on its certificates of deposit were disclosed on August 19, 2026, through a BSE filing. The private-sector bank said CARE Ratings Limited and India Ratings and Research Private Limited had assigned, affirmed or reaffirmed ratings for the instruments on August 18 and August 19, respectively.

CARE Ratings reaffirmed its CARE A1+ rating on HDFC Bank's certificate of deposit programme of ₹2,00,000 crore. The rated amount was enhanced from ₹1,50,000 crore, according to the filing.

The India Ratings instruments are regulated by the Reserve Bank of India, as stated in the rating letter. No issuance date or coupon rate was specified for either instrument in the disclosed table.

CARE review considered FY26 and Q1FY27 performance

CARE said its rating committee reviewed the rating after considering recent developments, including HDFC Bank's audited FY26 operational and financial performance and unaudited performance for the first quarter of FY27.

Both agencies clarified that credit ratings are opinions concerning the rated instruments and are not recommendations to buy, sell or hold securities. The ratings remain subject to continuing surveillance or periodic review under the agencies' applicable processes.
