Equitas Small Finance Bank announced the launch of When Organisations Win – Governance, Trust and the Values of Equitas Small Finance Bank in a BSE filing on September 7, 2026. The book examines how governance, trust and values can support sustainable and resilient organisations.

Authored by Dr CA Sangeeta Shankaran Sumesh, the book is based on conversations with P N Vasudevan, Managing Director & CEO of Equitas Small Finance Bank. It traces the bank's governance journey from its early microfinance days to its evolution into a small finance bank.

Governance beyond compliance

The book presents governance as more than rules, regulations and compliance requirements, focusing instead on organisational choices, behaviour and decision-making amid competing priorities and evolving risks.

It outlines the bank's Frames Approach to Governance, which involves identifying different governance frames and developing action plans under each frame to create a dynamic governance model.

  • Board-management alignment and regulatory signals
  • Communication with the RBI and learning from others' mistakes
  • Customer-centric governance, business model and credit risk
  • Technology, operational controls and investor relationships
  • Ethical leadership and impact on society

Vasudevan said governance is a continuous journey that must evolve as an organisation changes. He said the Frames approach has enabled Equitas to assess governance from multiple perspectives and challenge itself to improve.

The publication is intended for business leaders, board members, independent directors, bankers, investors, students and aspiring leaders. Notion Press has published the book, whose launch date is September 7, 2026.
