Dhanlaxmi Bank Director Appointment: T.V Rao Named Independent Director
Dhanlaxmi Bank has appointed former RBI official T.V Rao as an independent director for three years, subject to shareholder approval.

Dhanlaxmi Bank director appointment: The bank’s board appointed Mr. T.V Rao as an Additional Director in the Non-Executive Independent category at its meeting held on August 7, 2026, according to a BSE filing made the same day. The appointment will take effect from September 1, 2026.
Mr. Rao will hold office as a Non-Executive Independent Director for three years from the effective date, subject to approval by the bank’s shareholders. Dhanlaxmi Bank said it would seek shareholder approval in due course.
The bank also affirmed that Mr. Rao has not been debarred from holding the office of director by any order of the Securities and Exchange Board of India or another such authority. The board meeting began at 11:00 am and concluded at 6:20 pm. The disclosure was submitted under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, 2015.
Former RBI official brings over 35 years of experience
Mr. Rao is a career central banker with more than 35 years of service at the Reserve Bank of India. His experience covers the regulation and supervision of banks and non-banking financial companies, regulatory compliance, governance, payment systems and foreign-exchange facilitation through authorised persons under the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999.
His professional background also includes financial inclusion, customer complaint resolution, administrative processes and human-resources management at the central bank. He retired from the RBI as Chief General Manager.

The filing disclosed no relationship between Mr. Rao and the bank’s other directors. It also stated that he does not hold a directorship in any other listed company.
