Bank of Baroda has revealed its new Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) policy, which includes an ambitious target to achieve net-zero emissions by 2057. This commitment underscores the bank’s dedication to promoting sustainable banking, managing ESG risks, and embracing opportunities in a low-carbon economy.

Aligned with the 2025 Earth Day theme, "Our Power, Our Planet," which emphasizes the significance of renewable energy, the bank plans to prioritize financing for renewable energy projects.

As part of its environmental contributions, Bank of Baroda has already planted over 30,000 trees in 2025 alone under its 'Plant a Tree' initiative. For each auto and home loan disbursed, the bank plants a tree on behalf of its customers.

Debadatta Chand, Managing Director and CEO of Bank of Baroda, commented, "The launch of our ESG policy and our net-zero commitment reflects the importance we place on being a responsible corporate citizen, committed to protecting the environment, supporting social well-being, and upholding the highest standards of governance."

The bank also offers various sustainable finance products, including Green Deposits, Residential Rooftop Solar Loan Schemes, and a Green Hydrogen Financing Scheme, as part of its drive towards a greener future.
