Mitchell Marsh hits maiden IPL hundred first overseas centurion in 2025 season

Mitchell Marsh continued his dream run in IPL 2025, scoring his first hundred in the tournament. Marsh smashed a 56-ball hundred for Lucknow Super Giants against Gujarat Titans on Thursday, May 22 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. He also became the first overseas batter to score a hundred in the IPL 2025 season.
Marsh had hit 443 runs in 12 matches before Thursday's game in Ahmedabad with five fifties. The Australian all-rounder peaked in Ahmedabad, hammering six sixes and 10 boundaries before he went past the three-figure mark for the first time in his IPL career. Marsh's onslaught helped Lucknow race past 200 as they were putting immense pressure on Gujarat Titans, who are among the four teams to have qualified for the playoffs
Marsh got a standing ovation from the Ahmedabad crowd and his teammates in the Lucknow dugout. However, the big-hitting opener came up with a subdued celebration, showing a thumbs up to the dugout.
Marsh tore into Afghanistan star Rashid Khan, hitting the leg-spinner for 25 runs in an over. Marsh smashed Rashid for two sixes and three boundaries, jolting Gujarat Titans' bowling plans. Marsh was looking good to hit 150, but he was dismissed in the second delivery of the 19th over by left-arm pacer Arshad Khan. Marsh got out for 117 in just 64 deliveries. Marsh finished with 10 boundaries and eight sixes after having been destructive against both pace and spin.
