Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata Welcomes New Chief Vigilance Officer

KOLKATA: Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port (SMP), Kolkata, has appointed Shri Devidatta Satapathy as its new Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO). An Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME) officer from the 2009 batch, Shri Satapathy assumed his charge on March 3, 2025.

 

In a formal welcome session, SMP's Chairman, Shri Rathendra Raman, introduced Shri Satapathy to the heads of departments from both the Kolkata Dock System and the Haldia Dock Complex.

Shri Satapathy brings over 20 years of diverse experience across various government and public sector organizations. His expertise includes policy formulation, administration, railway operations, and energy management. Before joining the Union Government, he served as an executive engineer at ONGC and held a key role as a director in the Ministry of Steel.

A recipient of the GM's Medal in 2015 for exceptional service, Shri Satapathy holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a master's degree from a Japanese university.

The Chairman of SMP, Kolkata, extended his best wishes to Shri Satapathy for his new role at the 154-year-old heritage port.
