Employees Provident Fund (EPF) subscribers are set to experience a major shift in convenience and efficiency starting June 1, 2025. The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) will launch EPFO 3.0, a next-generation digital platform aimed at modernising India’s retirement savings infrastructure.

The announcement follows Union Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya’s confirmation that the rollout would occur between May and June 2025. With over 9 crore active members, this digital overhaul marks a significant step in streamlining access to EPF accounts.

EPFO 3.0 is designed with a modern IT backbone that promises to reduce paperwork, cut down on manual processing, and simplify how members interact with their provident fund accounts. Key highlights of the new system include integration with the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), allowing for faster and more secure transactions, and the ability to make withdrawals via ATMs.

The platform aims to make EPF services more accessible and user-friendly, reflecting a broader move toward digital transformation in public financial services. As India continues to embrace fintech and digital banking, EPFO 3.0 is poised to become a cornerstone in empowering salaried employees with greater control over their retirement savings.

The rollout of EPFO 3.0 on June 1 is part of a wider set of financial changes taking effect across the country, including updates to credit card regulations and personal finance tools. For EPF members, this launch signifies a new era of accessibility, transparency, and efficiency.
