The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD), functioning under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, successfully organized a Virtual Awareness Program for livestock farmers across Western and Southern States and Union Territories.

The event, conducted through the nationwide Common Service Centres (CSC) network, witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 1 lakh livestock farmers.

Union Minister of State, Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel, chaired the session and highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting the rural livestock sector through knowledge-sharing and timely interventions.

The virtual session focused on key areas vital to the well-being and productivity of livestock, including:

  • Breed Improvement Techniques

  • Timely Vaccination

  • Zoonotic Disease Control

  • Scientific Sanitation and Hygiene Practices

Through the CSC platform, the initiative ensured last-mile digital outreach to farmers, even in remote villages. The awareness campaign is part of the government's broader objective to boost animal health, improve rural livelihoods, and empower farmers with scientific know-how.

This large-scale outreach marks a significant step toward strengthening the animal husbandry ecosystem and promoting sustainable livestock management in India.
